Greene Espel client City of Rochester wins summary judgment in public-transit dispute

On June 7, 2013, the Olmsted County District Court decided the case of Rochester City Lines Company v. City of Rochester in the City’s favor. The lawsuit involved the competitive-bidding process for public-transit service in the City of Rochester. The plaintiff transit company sued the City after it awarded the contract to another company, one that the City deemed to have presented the best-value bid proposal. Having previously granted summary judgment to the City on the transit company’s takings claim, the district court concluded that the company’s remaining claims relating to the bidding process and its outcome were without merit. Greene Espel attorneys John Baker and Monte Mills represented the City of Rochester.
