A recent decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit affirmed the dismissal of a lawsuit filed against an Olmsted County prosecutor and sheriff’s deputy by a convicted sex offender who was arrested and charged with failure to register his winter address in Central America. The district court granted a motion for judgment on the pleadings on qualified immunity for the deputy and absolute prosecutorial immunity for the prosecutor, and the Eighth Circuit affirmed.
