Former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Kathleen Blatz received the Rosalie E. Wahl Justice for Children Award at the 11th Anniversary Celebration and Benefit for Children's Law Center of Minnesota on October 5, 2006. During her tenure, Justice Blatz worked to promote the rights and interests of children—especially children of color and children with disabilities — in the judicial, child welfare, health care, and education systems. CLC makes that work its mission. Greene Espel received the Children's Law Center Award for Distinguished Service, as will 3M, which also provides volunteer lawyers for CLC. Since its inception, CLC has served over 1,000 children in child protection proceedings with the help of over 200 pro bono lawyers. Greene Espel is honored to participate in this work.
