Greene Espel proudly congratulates its co-founder Cliff Greene, who last week received the 2020 Transformational Leadership Award from the International Leadership Institute. ILI is devoted to providing leadership and training development opportunities in Minnesota and worldwide. The Transformational Leadership Award is given to individuals who contribute to international understanding, cooperation, justice, and development.

Throughout his career, Cliff has made community, collaboration, and mentorship his guiding principles. To that end, he has remained active in initiatives that promote new generations of lawyers while remaining an advocate of efforts that transform how people think about the practice of law. During the awards ceremony on September 17, 2020, Judge LaJune Thomas Lange thanked Cliff for having “demonstrated a transformational leadership that we need so much right now.”

Even as he retires from the practice of law, we applaud Cliff for tirelessly serving as a mentor who values diverse perspectives to strengthen relationships with colleagues and the broader global community.
