Greene Espel PLLP is delighted to announce that Jeanette Bazis and Jenny Gassman-Pines were once again named to the Minnesota Lawyer “POWER 30” list for Employment Law. When selecting the 30 attorneys, Minnesota Lawyer focused on those whose presence on a case “signifies the stakes, who have influenced the direction of the law, whose leadership in the community is pervasive and whose respect within the bar is undeniable.”
Jeanette defends employers against claims of discrimination in state and federal courts; represents both employers and employees in trade secret, non-compete, and non-solicitation litigation; conducts workplace investigations; and counsels employers and trains employees to reduce the risk of litigation. She also is an experienced and highly regarded complex business and intellectual property litigator and strategist. Jeanette is a leader in the community, with a particular focus on mentoring women in the legal profession. She served as President of the Infinity Project, whose mission is to increase the gender diversity of the state and federal bench in the Eighth Circuit.
Jenny’s focuses her practice in three areas—helping employers facilitate inclusive and productive workplaces, internal investigations, and traditional litigation defense work. Clients hire Jenny to lead their trial teams, arbitrate multimillion-dollar disputes, and take and defend depositions of C-suite executives of large, multinational companies. Jenny’s advocacy skills are matched by her ability to connect with clients and witnesses, particularly in matters involving sensitive issues or difficult personalities. She also co-founded Greene Espel’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice, which provides consulting and training services to help clients create and sustain diverse and inclusive workplaces.
