Greene Espel is pleased to announce that our co-founder Clifford Greene has been named a co-recipient of the 2013 Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award by the Twin Cities Cardozo Society. The award is given annually to a senior attorney or judge in the Twin Cities who exemplifies excellence in his or practice, community service in the Jewish and general community, and life-long learning. Cliff graduated with honors from Harvard College (’73) and Cornell Law School (’76). He began his practice at Popham, Haik, Schnobrich, Kaufman & Doty in Minneapolis, which he left in 1993 to co-found Greene Espel, now widely recognized by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, Benchmark Appellate, and U.S. News – Best Lawyers as one of the top litigation firms in Minnesota. One of Minnesota’s most respected trial advocates, Cliff has repeatedly been included on Super Lawyers’ Top Ten Minnesota Super Lawyers list, listed as a leading commercial litigator in Chambers USA, recognized as a “Local Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation, and honored as an “Eighth Circuit Litigation Star” by Benchmark Appellate. Cliff represents business clients in local and national commercial disputes. He also regularly defends government agencies and officials in constitutional litigation involving high-profile claims. In addition to serving as an advocate, Cliff has a strong reputation as a mediator and arbitrator of commercial disputes.
