Greene Espel attorney Amran Farah will present a keynote address titled "Curating your own success" at the Somali Diaspora Conference in Minneapolis on September 3, 2022.
The Somali Diaspora Conference (SDC)—presented by the Somali North American Business and Professionals Inc (SNAPBI)—is the Leading Entrepreneurship & Innovation Conference within the Somali Diaspora. SNAPBI brings industry experts in the Somali Diaspora together to share their expertise in developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Somali Diaspora Communities. The 2021 SDC conference was attended by more than 1000 people from across the globe.
Amran is an experienced litigator who has a tenacious knack for identifying creative solutions to complex problems. Fortune 100 companies, public institutions, executives, and individuals seek out Amran for representation and counsel in a wide range of business matters, including complex commercial matters, construction, health care, intellectual property, and employment. She routinely litigates on behalf of national and international companies in state and federal court as well as arbitration proceedings. In addition to her litigation practice, Amran co-founded Greene Espel’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice which conducts workplace investigations and assists employers in addressing issues of discrimination and workplace misconduct.
Amran's talents are widely recognized. She was selected by Minnesota Lawyer as a 2021 "Attorney of the Year" and a 2020 "Up & Coming Attorney," and she was a 2020 Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal 40 Under 40 Honoree. She is annually selected for inclusion on the Minnesota Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers as well as the Ones to Watch list by Best Lawyers. Amran serves as Past-President of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers as well as on the board of B.R.A.V.E., a non-profit organization focused on building leadership skills for young Somali women. She is also a founder and past-President of the Somali American Bar Association and the past-Chair of the Council of Minnesotans of African Heritage.
