Greene Espel PLLP is delighted to announce that Jeanette Bazis and Jenny Gassman-Pines were recently named to Minnesota Lawyer’s “POWER 30” for employment law. When selecting the 30 attorneys for this inaugural list, Minnesota Lawyer focused on those whose presence on a case “signifies the stakes, who have influenced the direction of the law, whose leadership in the community is pervasive and whose respect within the bar is undeniable.”
Jeanette defends employers against claims of discrimination in state and federal courts; represents both employers and employees in trade secret, non-compete, and non-solicitation litigation; conducts workplace investigations; and counsels employers and trains employees to reduce the risk of litigation. She also is an experienced and highly regarded complex business and intellectual property litigator. In addition, enhancing diversity on the bench and mentoring women in the legal professional has been a major focus of Jeanette’s career.
Jenny’s employment practice is divided into three areas—helping employers create happy and productive workplaces, internal investigations, and traditional litigation defense work. Clients hire Jenny to lead their trial teams, arbitrate multimillion-dollar disputes, and take and defend depositions of C-suite executives of large, multinational companies. She also co-founded Greene Espel’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice, which provides consulting and training services to help clients create and sustain diverse and inclusive workplaces. Jenny recently co-authored “Why the Legal Profession is the Nation’s Least Diverse (and How to Fix It),” which was published in the Mitchell Hamline Law Review.
