Greene Espel PLLP is pleased to announce that attorney Jeanette Bazis has been elected to serve as Chair of the University of Minnesota Law School's Board of Advisors. The Law School’s Board of Advisors is made up of alumni and community leaders that provide counsel and support to the Dean in carrying out the Law School’s priorities and building an engaged and philanthropic alumni community. Jeanette has served as a member of the University of Minnesota Law School's Board of Advisors since 2016, including as Chair of the Development Committee for two years.
Jeanette is an experienced and highly-regarded litigator whose practice spans business, intellectual property, and employment litigation, as well as internal investigations. Many of Jeanette’s cases arise at the intersection of intellectual property and employment law, in trade secret litigation and cases involving the enforcement of restrictive covenants. She merged her business litigation and IP skills—and her love of music—to return the 1960’s smash hit “Louie Louie” to its rightful owners.
Leadership in the community and mentoring of women in the legal profession has been a major focus of Jeanette’s career. Jeanette served as President of the Infinity Project, whose mission is to increase the gender diversity of the state and federal bench in the Eighth Circuit. Her work with the Infinity Project earned her second Attorney of the Year recognition in 2013. She also serves on the Board of the Federal Bar Association and is active in the Minnesota Chapter of the FBA as well.
