Greene Espel is pleased to announce that Surya Saxena has been appointed by Governor Walz to serve on the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission. The Commission establishes and modifies the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines, which are designed to promote uniform and proportional sentences and to help ensure that sentencing decisions are not influenced by factors such as race, gender, or the exercise of constitutional rights by the defendant. Surya will apply his experience as a former federal prosecutor and white collar criminal defense lawyer in the service of the Commission.
