Greene Espel PLLP proudly applauds Holley Horrell and Faris Rashid who were named to Minnesota Lawyer’s 2019 “Up & Coming Lawyer” list. Each year, Minnesota Lawyer selects a small group of attorneys who are in their first ten years of practice to be named “Up and Coming.” The award honors attorneys who distinguish themselves through their professional accomplishments, leadership, and service to the community.
Holley has helped corporate and individual clients get the answers they need, develop and execute strategies, and achieve results in a variety of practice areas. Her practice includes trademark and copyright counseling and litigation, securities and class-action defense, and complex commercial litigation. Holley blends creativity and pragmatism to reach the best resolution for the matter at hand. In formal litigation, she draws on her strong writing skills and a deep understanding of the courts. She also maintains an active pro bono practice and was recently named a North Star Lawyer for providing at least 50 hours of pro bono legal services in 2018.
Faris represents private-sector clients in complex commercial matters, including cases involving trade secrets, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, technology and software-related disputes, and product-liability claims. Outside the courtroom, Faris delivers value to his clients using creative, practical solutions. In one matter, Faris worked with a client to conduct a digital forensics investigation and recovered source code stolen by a former employee. In other matters, Faris has analyzed technology patents; negotiated complex software licenses; and advised clients on managing risk following data breaches, including clients subject to HIPAA regulations. Outside of his litigation work, Faris has proven himself as a thought leader on technology and business-litigation topics. He is consistently invited to speak at premier seminars, including the Minnesota Business Law Institute and the Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute; and he has presented on the impact of new data-privacy regulations in the European Union. Faris has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline Law School since 2016.
