X. Kevin Zhao Appointed to Judicial Selection Committee for Federal District Court Vacancy by Senators Klobuchar and Smith

Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith appointed X. Kevin Zhao to serve on the Judicial Selection Committee to assist in making recommendations to President Biden to fill a vacancy on Minnesota’s federal district court, created by the Honorable Wilhelmina Wright’s retirement. The committee is made up of six attorneys, including current and former judges and other leaders in the legal community.

Kevin represents clients in complex disputes, including multidistrict, antitrust, and consumer class actions, as well as contract, tort, and fiduciary-duty claims. Kevin is currently coordinating legal strategy in federal and state courts across the country. He has authored winning briefs and argued successful dispositive and non-dispositive motions for clients in significant lawsuits and arbitrations. Before joining the Greene Espel, Kevin clerked for The Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota as well as The Honorable James B. Loken of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Kevin currently serves by appointment as an at-large member of the Minnesota Commission on Judicial Selection, which recommends candidates to the Governor for vacancies in the district courts and the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals.
