The “POWER 30” list—curated through extensive interviews with legal luminaries and analysis of landmark cases—recognizes attorneys whose presence on a case “signifies the stakes, who have influenced the direction of the law, whose leadership in the community is pervasive and whose respect within the bar is undeniable.”

The panel will review applications, interview prospective candidates, and recommend the five best-qualified candidates to the District Judges for consideration.

Minnesota Lawyer’s Top Women in Law recognition celebrates the outstanding achievements of women in Minnesota’s legal community.

Best Lawyers compiles its annual recognition by a comprehensive peer review survey which is designed to capture the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical area and legal practice area.

Each year, Minnesota Lawyer selects a small group of attorneys in their first ten years of practice who distinguish themselves through their professional accomplishments, leadership, and service to the community.

The Empowering Women awards shine a light on companies and organizations that have demonstrated tangible efforts and documented results in supporting and elevating women in business across Minnesota.

Only a small percentage of attorneys in each state are named each year to these annual lists—no more than 5 percent to the Super Lawyers list and no more than 2.5 percent to the Rising Stars list.

The Children's Law Center promotes the legal rights and well-being of children and youth, and its staff and volunteers provide direct representation of children and youth in the child welfare system as well as advocate for changes in the systems that affect their lives.

On May 21, 2020, the Ramsey County District Court ordered U.S. Bank, as trustee of a residential mortgage-backed securities trust, to use trust assets to pursue litigation against Goldman Sachs entities concerning thousands of mortgages in the trust that defaulted.

On December 13, 2019, Greene Espel filed an action for purchasers of $9 million in Bremer Financial Corporation stock, demanding that Bremer register them as shareholders and recognize the conversion of their stock to voting shares.
