Client Win: United States Supreme Court Upholds Federal Ban on Most Robocalls, as Urged in Greene Espel Pro Bono Amicus Brief
Since 1992, federal law has prohibited most robocalls to mobile phones. In January 2020, the United States Supreme Court decided to review an effort to strike down that ban based on the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

John Baker Receives Award from International Municipal Lawyers Association
Greene Espel's volunteer work on behalf of local governments was again recognized by the International Municipal Lawyers Association, which granted one of its 2019 Amicus Service Awards for two amicus briefs to the United States Supreme Court filed by Greene Espel attorneys. The award was presented to John M. Baker, counsel on record in both cases.
Greene Espel Lawyers Receive Recognition in 2018 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars Lists
Super Lawyers has released its 2018 list of Minnesota Super Lawyers and “Rising Stars, and 15 of Greene Espel's 27 lawyers were selected. Super Lawyers identifies the top five percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen through a multi-phased process that includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.

The Minnesota Supreme Court issued an opinion in favor of Greene Espel's client, the City of Rochester, reversing a Minnesota Court of Appeals decision that an appearance of bias had invalidated the City's transit contract.
