Greene Espel is pleased to announce that 16 of its attorneys have been recognized on the 2023 Minnesota Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.

This year’s recognition highlights the firm’s “widely respected litigation group able to provide expertise across a range of commercial disputes, including both class actions and single-plaintiff claims.” 

Greene Espel is pleased to announce that 16 of its attorneys have been recognized on the 2022 Minnesota Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists. Additionally, John Baker, Jeanette Bazis, and Jenny Gassman-Pines have been recognized on the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Minnesota list.

Chambers rankings are the result of in-depth market analysis and independent research conducted by an experienced team of researchers.

Through the Amicus Service Award, IMLA seeks to recognize the lawyers who have been actively involved in legal advocacy for and on behalf of local governments and IMLA, and who have done exemplary work to protect and advance local government interests.

Since 1992, federal law has prohibited most robocalls to mobile phones. In January 2020, the United States Supreme Court decided to review an effort to strike down that ban based on the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Greene Espel's volunteer work on behalf of local governments was again recognized by the International Municipal Lawyers Association, which granted one of its 2019 Amicus Service Awards for two amicus briefs to the United States Supreme Court filed by Greene Espel attorneys. The award was presented to John M. Baker, counsel on record in both cases.

Super Lawyers has released its 2018 list of Minnesota Super Lawyers and “Rising Stars, and 15 of Greene Espel's 27 lawyers were selected. Super Lawyers identifies the top five percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen through a multi-phased process that includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.

Greene Espel PLLP is pleased to announce that attorneys Kate Swenson and Kevin Zhao were named to Minnesota Lawyer's 2018 “Up & Coming Lawyer” list. Each year, Minnesota Lawyer selects a small group of attorneys who are in their first ten years of practice to be named “Up and Coming.”

The Minnesota Supreme Court issued an opinion in favor of Greene Espel's client, the City of Rochester, reversing a Minnesota Court of Appeals decision that an appearance of bias had invalidated the City's transit contract.
